Beautiful, brilliant, and devastating from the very beginning. As I sit here writing this, tears still stream down my face and my heart continues to break. The bond between father and son as they face the harshness of the northern wilderness and the tragedy that rocks their quiet existence has kindled every emotion within me.
It is just the trapper and his son now. With the rest of the trapper’s family gone, he raises the boy the only way he knows how teaching him the ways of the wilderness. Isolated from civilization, they face many threats as they live off the land in a place where man is not always at the top of the food chain. Danger is common, but the danger they are met with one fateful day is not one they could have predicted. The tale that ensues is full of overwhelming anguish and vigilante justice.

The literary devices carefully woven throughout the plot transport the reader into the story to touch, hear, see, smell, and taste every bit of it. Every description is vivid and full of life. Every moment of love and loss is honest and true. Amongst all the beauty this novel offers, there is also a suspenseful, cruel, and vengeful element that will keep you on the edge of your seat until the brutal end.
This is not merely a story; it is a journey into the meaning of life and the limits of the human spirit. Immortal North is an amazing and powerful novel that will have you hooked from the first page. An absolute must-read.
