The Oak Island Treasure Kids by S.L Boudreau

When a map of Oak Island is found, The Oak Island Treasure Kids set out on an adventure to find the treasure they heard legends about growing up in Mahone Bay, Nova Scotia. Thomas, Ben, and Noah embark on a journey they will never forget.

The Oak Island Treasure Kids, written by S.L. Boudreau and beautifully illustrated by Yurii Speranskii, is the first in a series of adventure picture books set on the South Shore of Nova Scotia. Thomas, Ben, and Noah are all part of a club called The Oak Island Treasure Kids who meet in their Treehouse every Saturday morning in Mahone Bay. On one Saturday morning, Thomas presents to the club a bottle that contains a map of Oak Island. On it there are trees, rocks, and a trail of red dots which appear to form a path. Could it be a treasure map?

This story is based on one of the greatest mysteries of Nova Scotia, the treasure of Oak Island. Thomas, Ben, and Noah set out on their bikes to solve a centuries-old mystery. With a likeness to the adventures of Indiana Jones, the boys follow clues and work as a team to find the legendary pirate’s treasure. This picture book would be perfect for those interested in Oak Island, clubhouses, treasures, and adventures and it would be perfect for locals and tourists alike. I am very interested in reading more adventures in this series.

S.L. Boudreau is from Nova Scotia, Canada. As a young adult, her profession was in marketing, and in her early 30s, she decided to go back to school to obtain a diploma in Criminology. After graduating, she gained a government job becoming a counsellor for youth in care. Being a mother of two, she would write stories with her children’s names in them and read the stories to them at bedtime. Her dream has always been to publish a children’s book. Growing up an hour away from Oak Island, and hearing the history and mystery surrounding it inspired The Oak Island Treasure Kids to come to life. This is the first children’s picture book about Oak Island, bringing history and fiction to our younger generation.
